Tyrrell Hatton claimed victory at the inaugural LIV Golf Nashville event on Sunday, successfully holding off challenges from Jon Rahm and Bryson DeChambeau. This win marks Hatton’s first triumph since January 2021 in Abu Dhabi.

Entering the final round with a three-stroke lead, Hatton shot a 6-under 65, finishing six strokes ahead with a total score of 19-under 194 at The Grove. His performance included eight birdies and two bogeys. “It was nice to play the last few holes and it not be super tight,” Hatton said, reflecting on his win. “Having not won for three and a half years, you wonder if you’ll be able to do it again. So I was happy I was able to prove it to myself.”

This event was Hatton’s ninth since joining LIV Golf, with his previous best finish being a tie for fourth. His only PGA victory was the 2020 Arnold Palmer Invitational. Hatton’s success also contributed to his team, Legion XIII, securing its third team title with captain Rahm shooting a 68.

Rahm, playing his first event since recovering from a foot infection that kept him out of the U.S. Open, couldn’t catch up to Hatton despite a strong start. He birdied three of his first four holes but hit a setback on the par-4 sixth hole, where his tee shot ended up in the water, leading to a double bogey.

DeChambeau, who tied for third with Rahm, Joaquin Niemann (62), and Lee Westwood (66) at 12 under, had his own frustrations. On the par-3 15th, his birdie putt dribbled away from the hole after hitting the pin. 

Fellow Englishman Sam Horsfield made a late surge with five birdies over his final nine holes, finishing with a 65 at 13 under.

The round faced a brief suspension due to a sudden downpour with five holes remaining. Play resumed after 22 minutes, allowing Hatton to complete his dominant performance and secure the win.

Hatton’s victory at LIV Golf Nashville not only ends his winless streak but also reinforces his position as a formidable competitor in the LIV Golf series.
