The total number of those killed at the site of the attack in Crocus City Hall has increased to 143 people, according to Russia’s Investigative Committee. But it is expected that the death toll will most likely keep rising in the coming hours as emergency services clear the rubble and inspect the premises of the hall. There were more than 200 people when the roof collapsed, and more bodies are expected to be found.
At Pirogov National Medical and Surgical Center, there is complete chaos as 107 victims are now hospitalized, with more than half in extreme or severe conditions, including 3 children. Interior Ministry says that the four suspected attackers are detained and are all foreign citizens.
Putin Addresses Moscow Concert Attack, Alleged Fugitives to Ukraine
In his recent national address, Putin affirmed that Russia had apprehended all individuals accountable for the Moscow concert assault and asserted they would face appropriate consequences. Additionally, he reiterated assertions made by the nation’s security services that the assailants had attempted to flee to Ukraine, a narrative dismissed as “absurd” by top Ukrainian officials. Putin announced plans for enhanced security measures throughout Russia, emphasizing the nation’s unity in the face of external threats.
Ukrainian Military Intelligence Denies Involvement in Moscow Attack, Labels Russian Claims as False”
Ukraine’s military intelligence spokesperson, Andriy Yusov, refutes allegations linking Ukraine to the Moscow attack, dismissing assertions that the suspects fled towards the Ukrainian border as fabricated by Russian special services. According to Yusov, these claims lack credibility and fail under scrutiny.
Yusov told the Reuters news agency that the claim “has nothing in common with reality and does not stand up to criticism”.
“Ukraine was of course not involved in this terror attack. Ukraine is defending its sovereignty from Russian invaders, liberating its own territory and is fighting with the occupiers’ army and military targets, not civilians,” he added.
He emphasized Ukraine’s stance of defending sovereignty against Russian aggression, focusing on combating military targets rather than engaging in civilian attacks.
How can these recent attacks affect the ongoing war in Ukraine and in Gaza?
Analysis: As we can see, Putin is already using these recent terrorist attacks in Moscow as propaganda to fuel his invasion of Ukraine. Even though ISIL already claimed to be the one behind the attack and the U.S. intelligence warned them about the attack earlier this month, somehow, the attack against Russian civilians has been linked to Ukraine. This country already has its hands full of fighting with Russian invaders sent by Putin.
What about Israel’s war in Gaza?
Just like they used the events of the British royal family as a smokescreen to start attacking Rafah during the Ramadan period. They could use this as another smokescreen to continue their genocidal attack against Palestinians.
How can this bring more harm to Muslims and supporters of Palestinians?
Because people like to label things, it would be not surprising to see a resurgence of the infamous saying, “All Muslims are terrorists.” Made famous by far-right extremists during the war on terrorism after the September 11 attacks in 2001. If this were to happen, then Israel could use this to gather more support for their attack on Palestinians since more than 95% of their population are Muslims.
