by | Jul 11, 2024

On July 11, the spotlight will shine brightly on Aruba’s very own Jeon, as he takes the stage at the prestigious Heat Latin Music Awards hosted by HTV in Punta Cana. Born Jonathan Thiel on January 27, 1991, Jeon is the son of renowned musicians Robert Thiel and Francia “Anchi” Thiel. Raised in a musically enriched environment, Jeon began his musical journey with piano lessons from his father at the tender age of eight. Over the years, he mastered multiple instruments including the bass, cuatro, wiri, conga, and piano, evolving into a versatile musician, composer, and producer.

Jeon’s musical talent has garnered him significant acclaim not only in Aruba but also in Curacao, Bonaire, Saba, Colombia, Venezuela, and The Netherlands. His hit singles have resonated with audiences across these regions, earning him the title of Aruba’s “Artist of the Year” multiple times. In 2016, his song “Dushi Bida” was celebrated as “Song of the Year” by numerous Aruban radio stations, with its music video amassing over 2 million views on YouTube.

The pinnacle of Jeon’s international breakthrough came in the winter of 2018 when he collaborated with J Balvin and Brazilian singer Anitta on the single “Machika.” The song achieved immediate radio success across the US, Latin America, and Europe, propelling Jeon to the forefront of the new Urban music scene. “Machika” soared to the number one spot on the Global YouTube chart, marking a significant milestone in Jeon’s career.

At the Heat Latin Music Awards, Jeon will join forces with artists Alex Sensation, Kiko El Crazy, and DJ Adoni to present their new summer hit “Tekila.” The music video for “Tekila” was recently filmed in Miami and will soon be available on various platforms. However, audiences worldwide will get an exclusive live preview during the awards show.

The event will also feature performances by prominent artists such as Jey One, La Perversa, Silvestre Dangond, Tito el Bambino, Lomiel, and Felipe Pelaez. The Heat Latin Music Awards, one of the most significant accolades in Latin American music, will be broadcast live on HTV, YouTube, and losheat.tv starting at 7 PM Aruba time. This event promises to be a landmark occasion for Jeon and his growing international fanbase.
