Mike Tyson ‘Doing Great’ After In-Flight Medical Incident

by | May 29, 2024

Famed boxer Mike Tyson, 57, experienced a medical issue during a flight from Miami to Los Angeles over the weekend but is now “doing great,” according to his representatives. The incident occurred just minutes before the plane landed on Sunday.

Tyson’s representatives explained that he became nauseous and dizzy due to an ulcer flare-up about 30 minutes before landing. The flight, which had already been delayed by two hours due to an air conditioning issue, landed safely, and Tyson received immediate medical attention.

The Centers for Disease Control describes an ulcer as a sore or hole in the stomach lining or the first part of the small intestine, which can cause significant discomfort.

Despite the scare, Tyson is preparing to return to the ring on July 20 for a highly anticipated match against boxer and YouTuber Jake Paul at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. This will be Tyson’s first sanctioned fight since his retirement in 2005, and he will be 58 years old at the time of the bout.

Tyson, who is widely regarded as one of the greatest boxers of all time, expressed his gratitude to the medical staff who assisted him. His representatives assured fans that he is recovering well and looking forward to his upcoming match.

Tyson’s return to boxing is highly anticipated, especially following his recent ventures into acting and business. The match against Paul is expected to draw significant attention, highlighting Tyson’s enduring popularity and influence in the sports world.
