Famine and Starvation is Becoming the Deadliest Weapon from Israel

by | Mar 14, 2024

As the world watches one country destroy another for their “righteous” war. Israel’s deadliest weapon is the aftermath of the bombing in Gaza, Lebanon, and Rafah. While Netanyahu still claims that his only goal is to eradicate Hamas, every day it seems more that his plan is the complete genocide of Palestinians.

In Rafah, Five Palestinians were killed after an Israeli strike hit a United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) building. These are not rebels or Hamas terrorists, these were people seeking and giving help to those in need.

In Gaza, many children are dying daily due to starvation, with every aid getting either destroyed by Israel or stolen. In Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza, Six-year-old Fadi Al-Zanat is one of many who will die due to starvation. He is suffering from severe malnutrition and dehydration.

“The child’s health condition is very bad and is not improving, there is no treatment for his condition.” said 28-year-old Ayman Al-Zanat, Fadi’s uncle, he worries that the child will not make it through the night.

Israel’s severe restrictions on aid entering Gaza have condemned Palestinians to deadly hunger. At least 27 Palestinians in Gaza have died of malnutrition and dehydration just in the last 10 days, and those are just the ones that are recorded. How many more are dying in the streets and rubbles in Gaza?

As the US started dropping aid from the Air, European Union foreign policy chief Josep Borrell said it was not enough. He has met with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken at the State Department.

“We need to act. The very survival of the population in Gaza is at the stake today,” Borrell said.

Borrell thanked Blinken for his “personal efforts” to get humanitarian assistance into Gaza, but also pressed that routes into Gaza by land must be opened.

“We need to clear the humanitarian nexus through sea, by air, that’s good. That’s not enough. You cannot replace hundreds of trucks by sending parachutes. The most important thing is to open the borders by land. And continue working, or start working on a two-state solution that both of us – US and EU – endorse. The only way for lasting peace,” Borrell said.

Airdrops, though bypassing rigorous land checkpoints, are criticized by aid agencies for being costly, limited in capacity, and potentially chaotic. The US plans to set up a temporary pier off Gaza’s coast for aid delivery, but it won’t be operational for about 60 days, according to the Pentagon.
