Aruba Police Enhance Patrol Fleet with Ford Everest and Ranger

by | Mar 14, 2024

The Aruba Police Force gears up for enhanced law enforcement capabilities with the introduction of a new fleet of vehicles. In a vibrant ceremony hosted at Yrausquin Automotive Company, the official handover of 34 new patrol vehicles took place, marking a significant advancement for Aruba’s law enforcement sector.

Joined by esteemed dignitaries including Minister of Justice and Social Affairs, Mr. Rocco Tjon, and Police Commissioner Drs. Ramon Arnhem, the event symbolized a pivotal moment in the modernization of the Aruban police fleet.

Replacing the longstanding Isuzu models, the Aruba Police Force will now deploy Ford Everest and Ranger vehicles for patrol duties. This transition not only introduces new brands and models but also incorporates cutting-edge technology, including the latest “Whelen” models known for their advanced features.

One of the most notable changes is the shift from traditional blue and orange flashing lights to blue and red, enhancing visibility and safety for both officers and the community. Additionally, a new siren sound has been introduced to ensure effective auditory signaling during emergencies.

The upgraded fleet will also feature “Data Terminals,” empowering officers with enhanced information capabilities while on patrol. This integration of technology represents a significant leap forward for Aruba, aligning law enforcement practices with modern advancements.

Commissioner Arnhem expressed his satisfaction with the developments, emphasizing the importance of investing in both personnel and technological resources to ensure the safety and security of Aruba’s community. He underscored the Aruba Police Force’s commitment to progress and its role in laying a solid foundation for the future of law enforcement in the country.

Aruba’s roads will soon witness the presence of these new police vehicles, proudly adorned with the national flag’s blue colors and golden stripes, symbolizing the island’s unity and pride in its law enforcement efforts.
